My name is Fabio Ingrosso
As a pioneer in snowkiting since 1996 and a six-time world champion, I have been actively involved in the development and testing of kites. Transitioning from my athletic career, I have been coaching since 2000, and I take pride in the achievements of my riders:
- Seven-time World champion Mikaili Sol (Brazil)
- GKA’20 champion Maxime Chabloz (Switzerland)
- U14 freestyle World Champion Finn Flugel (Germany)

Coaching Above The Water
At our initial meeting, we establish goals for the week ahead and delve into the rider's current skill level. Throughout the day, Fabio leads two coaching sessions. The first involves video coaching, where he captures the rider's entire performance on the water, provides feedback and tips. The second session occurs on the water, where Fabio demonstrates tricks or exercises for the rider to practice together. Prior to each training day, Fabio conducts a briefing to review the previous day's footage, identify areas for improvement, and create a plan for the upcoming session. Additionally, we offer daily yoga classes with Lucia Pele to prepare the body for rigorous water training. Occasionally, Fabio conducts beach training to enhance muscle memory and improve on-water tricks effectively. This comprehensive approach consistently leads to remarkable success.

Barra Grande
Barra Grande in the state of Piaui is a renowned kite spot in Brazil that has been popular among kitesurfers for many years. The area was developed for tourism several years ago, attracting regular guests since 2010.
Located a bit upwind and approximately 2 km from the beach, there is a rocky bank that acts as a barrier against large waves, providing mostly flat water at low tide. However, choppy conditions can be expected at high tide. The shallow bay and the side-onshore wind from the right make it suitable even for beginners to practice kitesurfing.
Macapa lagoon
The main attraction in Barra Grande is the flat water lagoon located 2 km downwind, which transforms into a vast basin as the tide rises. The muddy subsoil keeps the water shallow, creating ideal conditions for kitesurfing. Further downwind, towards Macapa, there are several sandbanks that offer a perfect playground for freestyle kitesurfing.
The wind comes no later than 11:00 a.m. and blows constantly and without gusts side-onshore from the right. As everywhere in northeastern Brazil, the best wind time is from late July to mid-January. However, the wind blows most strongly from October to December.

Located 3.3 km from Barra Grande and just 250 meters from Macapa Kite Spot, Vilarejo Macapá Chalés offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, and a terrace. The inn features an indoor pool, breakfast, and free WiFi throughout the property.
